Are you looking to redecorate your bedroom? Start with buying the best bedsheets. Here’s how you do it:
#1 First things first: Fitted or flat?
Lately, there has been a steady uptick in the demand for fitted bedsheets, in both double and single bedsheets. Fitted bedsheets offer convenience and a good fit for your mattress, provided you pick the right size for your bed. Just snap it on all sides of the mattress and you’re good to go. But if you’re not comfortable with it or don’t know how to make the bed with it, then you should go with a standard flat bedsheet in large or single, whatever you prefer.
#2 Which material do you prefer?
The next consideration is the bedsheet’s material. Cotton is the most common material for bed linen and bedsheets. Other materials are satin, cotton-silk blend, pure silk, cotton-jute weave, microfiber, etc. Go with whichever material suits your skin and feels soft and comfortable. If you’re looking for a bedsheet that is easy to maintain, does not overheat and does not cause respiratory issues or other illnesses, we suggest you invest in hygro-cotton and bamboo charcoal bedsheets that are skin-friendly and which kill infectious viruses and microbes. Cotton bed linen is also better at naturally regulating temperature, since it shows more breathability than other fabrics.
#3 A high thread count is great, but not the only factor to look for.
The thread count for any fabric is the number of horizontal and vertical threads of that fabric measured in a square inch. In terms of cotton, a higher thread count is better because it results in a softer, denser bedsheet that has greater dexterity. The highest thread counts are found in Egyptian cotton sheets (with counts over 800 to 1000), but counts between 300 and 500 are good, too. Instead of getting hung up on the thread count, look for brands selling 100% cotton single and double bedsheets, in hygro-cotton or bamboo charcoal variants.

#4 Browse for your preferred colours and patterns.
We suggest you shop online for your bedding, whether it is a large bedsheet or a comforter. It is easy to pick from between various designs and colours, get information in terms of dimensions, whether pillow cases are included in the set, how to care for the bed linen (check manufacturer instructions on washing), etc. When you pick colours, you may either go with hues that match the room’s colour scheme or colours that directly contrast it. It’s all about finding the right visual balance and harmony.
#5 Compare prices.
If you have shortlisted a few bedsheets that you like, it is better to make a final price comparison among like products and like brands. Go with the online marketplace that offers you the best deal and price points on the bed sheets you want. However, buying directly from the brand’s website assures you of the best quality, the right price and also ethical practices in delivery and returns, if needed.
#6 Go over the exchange and returns policy.
Every brand has its own exchange and returns policy. Go over it thoroughly before you checkout and pay for your purchases. Most brands allow 15 to 30 days to return or exchange the purchased product, provided the item has not been used or washed, and the packaging and price tags are intact. If you need to return or exchange the product, the site has a clear policy and method to do so; be sure to follow the process diligently to ensure a smooth refund process. Refunds are normally processed in 7 business days from the date of acceptance of the returned product.
