Hair Today, Gone Today: 3 Hair Removal Tips That Work

Muscat is a wonderful city to live in, full of modern infrastructure, good housing opportunities and ample employment options. As a new resident in Muscat, you are slowly adjusting to the city and its rhythms.

You also like the urban vibe that the city provides, and you like the freedom to wear modern clothing when you go out. However, this means that you must remove all the hair from your limbs. And this is often a messy affair! Also, it takes a lot of time to wax the hair, only to have it grow back a few days later.

Removing unwanted body hair is a never-ending chore for most women. Since there is not much to be done about it, it is far more prudent to make the most of the situation by following some simple tips. We’ve got some practical advice to follow so that hair removal becomes easier and the hair stays away longer. As a bonus, you also get softer skin with hair that is easier to remove.

#1 Laser hair removal is the ultimate solution for permanently removing body hair.

Laser hair removal is often looked at with suspicion, because most people (wrongly) believe that it causes severe skin stress and may even cause permanent damage. This is simply not true – when administered by an expert doctor, it is one of the most effective and safest ways to eliminate unwanted body hair. It is true that there is some post-procedure care that you must take, but any redness or soreness as a result of the treatment go away in just a few days. Be sure to have an experienced doctor administer the laser hair removal treatment, and to get all your queries and concerns addressed beforehand. Since the laser hair removal eliminates the entire hair shaft, hair regrowth is sparse and finer than before. With repeat sessions, the hair is almost entirely eliminated permanently.

#2 Waxing gives longer term results than depilation.

Most women opt for quick fixes when it comes to hair removal, mostly due to a shortage of time. Using a hair removal cream or shaving during the bath are quicker and more inexpensive than booking time consuming salon appointments. Also, you might not get a salon appointment at the last minute, so you might have to alter your clothing options for a party or social do if you are unable to wax the hair on time. However, the biggest advantage of hair removal using waxing is that the hair is pulled out from the root – this means that the hair shaft takes longer to rebuild itself. On an average, waxing keeps hair from re-growing for at least three weeks. Meanwhile, hair removed using a depilatory cream reappears in just three or four days. Shaving results in a stubble growing back in just one day. Which method would you rather use?

#3 What you do after hair removal helps a lot.

It’s not only about removing hair often or using the most effective method, such as laser hair removal. It’s how you treat your skin pre- and post-removal that counts. It is important to keep the skin clean and ready for hair removal. Exfoliate the skin at least six hours prior to removing hair, and use numbing cream if you are about to wax. Do not apply any powders or moisturising creams on the skin, or the wax/depilatory cream will not adhere to the skin. After removing hair by waxing, use ice pads to reduce any discomfort and redness/soreness. Stay away from communal swimming pools, tanning beds and exposure to direct sunlight while the skin heals. This is especially important if you undergo laser hair removal. Caring for the skin by applying generous amounts of moisturiser and drinking at least one litre of water every day will lock in hydration and keep the skin softer and smoother. Regular exfoliation is necessary to unclog the skin and remove traces of dried oil, grime and dead skin cells. We hope these hacks help you get softer, clearer skin with softer hair regrowth – so that subsequent hair removal becomes much simpler than before. Good luck!

What are hybrid mutual funds and how do they help you?

Should you invest in hybrid mutual funds in India? These are mutual funds which majorly deploy investments in multiple asset classes. In most cases, they are usually a mixture of assets in debt and equity along with sometimes including assets like gold. The underlying principle behind hybrid funds is the principle of diversification, allocation of assets and correlation. The process of allocation of assets is the method of wealth distribution throughout multiple asset classes while correlation refers to co-movement for returns on assets.

Diversification in this case refers to possessing more than a single asset in the investment basket. The advantage with the best hybrid funds is that they lower risks to the portfolio through a combination of assets with lower correlation levels. These plans diversify investor investments across several classes for garnering the highest possible returns with the lowest possible risks. Fund managers are the ones choosing allocation levels for every individual class of assets on the basis of the objective for investments and the specific conditions prevalent in the market.

Learning more about the best hybrid funds India and how they function

Be it the best debt hybrid funds or the ones slanted more towards equity, they have a common modus operandi in terms of their functioning. Equity has ample potential for giving handsome returns in the long run although the short-term risks are higher owing to increased market volatility. Debt also comprises of instruments that bear interest and generate income on a regular basis. It is a low-risk option in comparison to equity as well. These asset classes have lower correlation levels and fusing them will naturally lower risks to the portfolio.

Debt hybrid funds or equity hybrid funds will attempt at offering the best of both worlds for investors. The equity component will garner returns whenever there is a boom in equity markets while the debt component will be cushioning risks whenever there is market volatility or any other fluctuations. These funds also strive to offer capital appreciation in the long haul via equity and regular income or stability in the short term via debt.

Are hybrid funds suitable for you?

Investing in hybrid mutual funds in India will only be suitable for you if you fall in the below-mentioned categories:

  • First-timers– First-time mutual fund investors are naturally attuned towards overall stability offered by FDs and other conventional fixed-income channels. They do know about equity and its potential for generating high returns but are worried about market volatility in the short term. Hybrid funds can be good entry points for first-timers as per their risk profiles. Returns will naturally have lower volatility since a chunk of the investment will be in debt.
  • Retirees– Those who have retired will naturally desire income on a regular basis for substituting their monthly salaries to a large extent. Conservative funds in the hybrid space may offer income regularly via debt investments and aim at offering more through equity exposure which will combat inflation post retirement.
  • Those seeking specific allocation of assets– These are people who desire an investment portfolio with a specific allocation for assets. However, they do not possess the expertise or time to monitor markets and manage this allocation likewise. Hybrid funds are great options for these investors.
  • Short-term investors– Arbitrage funds and similar types may offer greater tax efficiency for those seeking to park their capital for at least 6 months amidst volatility in the market.

Do your homework carefully before investing in hybrid funds.

Acquire Self-defense with Masks

The need for wearing a mask has never been so deeply felt like today, thanks to the unfortunate outbreak of the global pandemic. All awareness messages regarding the pandemic point to one crucial step – wearing masks to protect you. While there has been resistance in the initial phase, covering all the exposable parts of the body, have become a priority for the people now.

Use of Masks as Recorded in Early Times

Though the current urge to cover your nose and mouth is attributed to the Coronavirus, this has been regarded as a means of hygiene in early modern Europe. The doctors attempted to combat the Bubonic plague with the use of beak-shaped masks. These masks were believed to be capable of protecting against the infectious diseases that spread through air pollutants.

Later in 1918, the use of the mask in America shifted from the mere practice of hygiene to a necessity that involved legal implications if ignored. This was done to combat the spread of the influenza epidemic of 1918-1919. Subsequent events like the Spanish flu had eventually caused masks to be accepted as an important tool to keep germs away.

Type of Masks

There are various types of masks that you can use for your protection. But the three primary types are:

  • Homemade cloth masks – you can wear cloth face masks if you do not have trouble breathing. As these can be made on your own, you can save while ensuring an unlimited supply.
  • Surgical masks – these are disposable masksthat can effectively protect you against contagious diseases.
  • N95 Respirators–these are tight-fittingrespiratory masksthat scores high on protection.

Mask for Coronavirus

While you know the use of masks in ensuring your safety against contagious diseases, it is also important to know that selecting the right kind of mask is crucial. The N95 respirators offer a high level of protection, as does surgical grade masks. But these masks come at a higher price. So, the next best options available to you are the non-surgical ones, including those made of clothes. As the objective is to seek a proper covering that will fit tightly around your face, you can opt for any disposable mask that you find suitable.

Mask Myths

When any new addition occurs in the existing system, myths surrounding the event are highly expected to arise. The same has happened with the use of a mask in fighting the pandemic. Some of the myths that you may commonly hear are-

  • Wearing a mask is not necessary as the Coronavirus is unreal – it has been believed for quite some time that the virus is overblown or hoax, lessening the need for masking.
  • Any material mask is wearable – the purpose of wearing a mask itself negates this claim. You cannot expect coverings made of mesh or lace to block large respiratory droplets.
  • You breathe in more carbon dioxide with medical mask – this belief held by many has been disapproved by the World Health Organization. Medical or surgical masks do not cause a lack of oxygen in your body, even if worn for long hours.

Wearing a mask to protect you from the pandemic is vital. There is no alternative to it, not even social distancing. Therefore, choosing masks that do the job well and suits your comfort is the current important task at hand.

Want A Mommy Makeover? Follow Our 5-Step Guide

Female student checking her computer

Being a new mother is an exciting and challenging phase in your life. You are thrilled with the new addition to the family, and you revel in your duties as a mother. But you are increasingly despondent about the toll that pregnancy and labour have taken on your body. Where your body was tight and shapely, you now notice rolls of fat and loose skin.

If you are embarking on a mission to reclaim your pre-baby body, then this article will guide you on the 5 steps you need to take to get there.

#1 Get moving.

The first thing to do after becoming a new mother is to draw up plans to remain as active as possible. Sleep deprivation in the early days of the new baby being at home can make you feel fatigued and stressed. However, the baby will soon settle into a sleep rhythm. Once your doctor gives you the go-ahead, you can start on gentle exercise like walking or swimming for about 15 minutes a day. Gradually step up the intensity on your doctor’s advice. Normally, strenuous exercise is not recommended for nursing mothers. However, being active and exercising will help shed some of the extra pounds and keep you in better spirits.

#2 Look for fat reduction treatments.

Let’s face it – not all the fat and weight you accumulated over your pregnancy is going to drop off merely through exercise. It is good news if it does, but there are certain areas of the body – arms, back, abdomen, thighs – where the fat is quite stubborn and may be quite difficult to shift with exercise alone. If you think that your body is not as toned with exercise as you would like, then you might consider fat reduction or removal treatments from a reputed clinic in Dubai. The best ones offer body sculpting and fat removal via safe procedures. There is minimal scarring and you will not experience after-treatment side effects.

#3 Get a butt augmentation procedure.

One of the first casualties of a pregnant body is the buttock area. It seems like gravity and excess fat conspire to create a droopy derriere where a perky butt used to be. Again, exercise and diet may not help your buttocks regain their natural perkiness. You might consider seeing an expert surgeon to get a buttock augmentation fix in Dubai. The safest procedures for buttock augmentation involve sculpting your buttocks using a blast of high energy waves on specific butt muscles. These waves cause the muscles to contract, thus making them pert and taut. Fat cells in the area are reshaped so that the buttocks look contoured and shapely.

#4 Get your breasts fixed.

Breastfeeding your baby is a joyful experience, but new mothers complain that their breasts become droopy and lose their former shape. Most women resort to wearing padded or contouring bras to counter the problem, but this is only a temporary fix. You might feel embarrassed to put on a bathing suit, or wear a low-cut top, or even a pretty new dress because of the state of your breasts. If this is a problem big enough to undermine your confidence, then getting a breast augmentation or lift procedure is important. Leading beauty care clinics in Dubai have doctors on their roster who routinely perform these procedures on scores of women every month. They do not hamper your ability to breastfeed.

#5 Eat and sleep well.

As a new mother, you cannot undergo too many sculpting and shaping procedures. Your body needs to adjust to its new role on its own as much as possible, and it needs your help in doing so. Eating right and getting enough rest are key to recovery and weight loss. Eating balanced meals with medium to small portions, being mindful about consuming food and beverages with low sugar and salt, and also getting about eight hours of sleep every night will help you shed the excess weight and inches gradually.

We urge you to be moderate in your quest to attain the perfect body after the birth of your child. Slow progress is better than extremely fast results since the former will last longer.

#1. Afghanistan 278/3

Afghanistan surpassed Australia’s record of 263 runs in 2019. Their player, Hazratullah Zazai played a striking inning of 162* from 62 balls. In the process, he reached the second-highest T20I score. Ireland posted a total of 194 in reply.

But, Glenn Maxwell stole the show being the highest run-scorer hitting a stunning 145* from 65 balls. Other notable hitters of the day were Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and David Warner.

In reply, Sri Lank reached a total of 178/9, falling 85 runs short.

Know more about Influential Fashion Designers of All Time

Know more about Influential Fashion Designers of All Time

Some fashion designers will forever be remembered for how they pushed boundaries and influenced how we all dress. You might not know whose designer fashion creation you are wearing. In this article, we are going to talk about the most influential fashion designers of all time.

1. Coco Chanel (1883-1971): She is one of the world class fashion designer of all time and one of the most influential. Her timeless clothes created a revolution in the early years of the 20th century. A very forward thinking women much ahead of her times, she is said to have introduced the little black dress for the first time and also made women wear pants as a fashionable attire. Her brand Chanel continues to be a success. She passed away in 1971.

2. Christian Dior (1905-1957): Few designers dominated the fashion industry as Christian Dior did after World War II. Dior’s creations featured a lower hemline on new fashion dress, small shoulders, and fuller skirts, a contrast to the padded shoulders and shorter skirts look from years past. Dior is credited with restoring French clothiers to the exalted status they enjoyed before the war.

3. Giorgio Armani (b. 1934): Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion tycoon best known for his sleek men’s and women’s suits. Richard Gere, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jodie Foster, and John Travolta have worn Armani’s “power suits”. The designer also provided most of the wardrobe for “Miami Vice.” Armani has since expanded his fashion house to include eveningwear, ready-to-wear, and more.

4.  Ralph Lauren (b. 1939): A war veteran who successfully transitioned into a fashion icon, the ‘Polo’ logo we all know so well today represents his house. What set Ralph Lauren’s designs apart was the use of men’s style in tailoring classic women’s suits. It set apart the look of his brand from anything in the competition. Today with over 600 stores around the world, it has become one of the most sought after signature fashion brands.

5. Calvin Klein (b. 1942): When he first debuted on the scene, he set the record for being the youngest recipient of the COTY Award (Contractor of The Year Award). The (now) common branding on the back pocket of your jeans is something that Calvin Klein introduced to the world. He followed up the massively successful campaign with an underwear collection. Today, though he does not oversee the designs of his range as he once did, he continues to be an inspiration.

6. Donna Karan (b. 1948): Donna Karan brought upper class, New York style into stores across America with her DKNY fashion line. Eventually, she diversified into menswear, children’s clothes, jeans, and perfume.

7. Miuccia Prada (b. 1949): Miuccia Prada, born Maria Bianchi, was an unlikely successor to the fashion house founded by her mother’s family. By the time she joined the family business in 1970, the Prada brand was in decline. With the help of businessman Patrizio Bertelli, she revived it by creating a line of unlabeled handbags made out of Pocono nylon that were durable and water resistant. The line did not take off immediately when it was introduced in 1979. The handbags were re-launched in 1985 and this time the bags had a gold chain and the signature logo, and sales leaped.

6 eco-friendly ways to drink water

You may be wondering what does drinking water has to do with the environment. We all know that the global environment is being degraded day by day. It is our responsibility to do our share to save the environment. It can start by changing the way you drink water.

Water is an abundant natural resource, but it has an expiry date. Many urban cities are soon to run out of drinking water. That is when everyone will go crazy for packaged drinking water. Lets us start from today and bring change.

Let me explain to you how to drink water and keep ourselves hydrated without affecting the environment.

  1. Be aware of your water intake

Everyone drinks water, but everyone does not keep a check on the individual water intake. Start checking the amount of drinking water uptake by you and your family by keeping count on the number if1-liter water bottle, 10 littler water can, and higher quantity. This does not bring huge profits to the environment. Being aware of the water intake makes you aware of the water wasted per week for various purposes. Also, this helps in monitoring the health effects of a higher intake of water.

  • Buy economical packaged water.

This means that one should start buying a higher quantity of packaged water based on the needs of the family. I.e. buying 10-liter water can is better than, buying 10 numbers of 1-liter water bottles. This avoids the hidden environmental fees associated with the manufacturing of bottles, etc. A family of more than 4 might need 30-liter water can per week. Observe the water intake and buy packaged water cans based on their needs.

  • Go to environment-friendly manufacturers.

A packaged 10-liter water can require more than 10 liters of water for the manufacturing of the can. Thus the water footprint left by water containers is huge. Hence, go for a manufacturer with recyclable plastic packaging. This is the least you can do for the environment.

  • Choose mineral water over other purified water.

It is known that mineral water has adequate health benefits compared to normal purified water. From an environmental point of view, mineral waters undergo minimal processing. Hence does not wastewater. On the other hand, purified water involves processes like desalination, reverse osmosis, and distillation waste 3 times the amount of water it processes. In recent years, governments across the world are taking serious note of this issue.

In a way, a 10-liter water can of mineral water is more eco-friendly than the same quantity of packaged purified drinking water.

  • Prefer environment over compactness.

The wedding industry accounts for a huge amount of plastic water bottle consumption. In recent years, it has become common to provide 250 ml plastic water bottles to individual guests. Imagine the carbon footprint and water uptake in the manufacturing of plastic involved in manufacturing. It is not an environmentally friendly way of utilizing water.

Replace the individual water bottles with a common 10-liter water can and hygienically distribute the water.

  • Calculate the associated costs of packaged drinking water.

A single plastic water bottle has in itself the hidden cost involved in the production of plastic, transportation of the bottle, labeling charges, etc. Each one of these plays a role in the degradation of the environment. Hence, buy packaged drinking water in huge quantities like 10-liter water can and 30-liter water can to avoid environmental costs.

Drinking water is good for your health. It should not come at the cost of a healthy environment. Choose your packaged drinking water wisely to stay hydrated as well as protect the environment.

In an ideal work world, you would be free to do what you loved and be paid for it without going out of the house. Well, partly, it is a reality now all over the world. Close to 15 million people in India are living this dream.

Increase in work from home postings on job portals in India

The demand for work from home was always high, but the employers were reluctant to extend this option to their employees. This resulted in a low supply of such jobs. But Covid-19 crisis has balanced the demand-supply equation.

Job portals in India have seen an increase in work-from-home hiring for jobs. Amid the pandemic challenges, where you can’t commute to work, having a platform where you can online apply for job and get a job is fantastic.

As work from home has become the new normal, the focus on reskilling has narrowed down, especially in the digital realm. This is deemed as the beginning of a fundamental transformation in the way we work. Also, remote working may bring to the forefront that the future of work is about skills.

The shift of the labour market to a more digitally-oriented economy

The gap in digital skills is required to be narrowed down to ensure employability, market relevance, and employment. To succeed in this rapid change times, business leaders have to adapt by embracing flexibility with growth mindsets and learning new skills.

As freelancers have always worked remotely and as hiring freelancers is going to be more cost-effective for companies, there is going to be a peak in people wanting to become freelancers. The remote working pattern has accelerated this transition.

Conclusion

Many small and big companies are looking to reduce costs with revenues taking hit. Hence, working with freelancers is a favourable decision even for them. Employee cost is reduced as companies work with freelancers on a project basis in a flexible arrangement.
