Want A Heavenly Body? Try These 5 Hacks

Body fat is a curious thing. It is necessary for survival and proper functioning, especially for women in their childbearing years. But too much of it leads to ill health and a misshapen body. Nobody likes to sport

From doing lower body workouts to getting a body reshaping treatment in Dubai, we present 5 hacks to get the best ever body that you’ve always desired:

#1 Squat and lunge away!

Most people don’t know a secret that most bodybuilders and regular gymmers are privy to: lower body workouts that work the glutes, hamstrings and thigh muscles are the best ones to reduce fat all over the body. Sounds improbable? Let us explain. These are some of the biggest muscle groups in the body. The muscle also carries a layer of fat cells. When you work these muscles, they break down and develop minute tears. They must regroup and rebuild from here, so they burn the fat cells to fuel the rebuilding process. So you end up losing fat content even as the muscle gets reshaped and toned. In fact, intensive lower body exercises burn fat in this manner all over the body – fat is never burnt in just one part or zone of the body. So if you want to see faster fat loss and sculpted, firm muscles, go to the gym and work out your muscles as often as you can.

#2 Eat your greens.

The food you eat takes energy to break it down and get assimilated prior to the digestive process. The more laden with bad fats and oil the food is, the more time and effort it takes for the system to digest it. You end up feeling sluggish while this happens. Instead of subjecting your body to this extra effort, try eating light meals that are easy to digest and full of important nutrients. Load your plate with seasonal green vegetables and have salads with lean meat and low-fat dressing. You can have steamed vegetables and chicken with olive oil and lemon juice dressing – make sure at least half of it has green vegetables, with a smattering of pine nuts, grated cottage cheese, quinoa and pineapple or banana cubes. Such a meal is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants. It will keep you full and help metabolic processes, in turn leading to fat loss.

#3 Go for a run or swim.

Feeling sluggish and fat? Put on your running shoes and go for a jog around the block. Jogging and running accelerate fat burning and calorie loss, and they are great for toning the muscles in your entire body. They are also great for cardiovascular health. If running is not your type of exercise, go for a swim. Swimming is the best all-round cardio workout that burns both fat and calories rapidly. 30 minutes of swimming is akin to over an hour of running in terms of fat burning potential. Plus, it’s a great way to cool off in the hot Dubai weather!

#4 Sleep as much as you can all night.

Lack of sleep, or disturbed sleep at night, can contribute to weight gain. This happens because your body is tired from the lack of sleep and needs to conserve as much energy as possible to get through the day. To do this, it converts all your food into fat reserves that can be used to fuel you till the time you fall asleep again. Thus, your fat burning capability is greatly reduced. Instead of falling into this trap, try and get at least seven hours of good quality sleep every night. Invest in blackout curtains to cut out the glare from street lights, make sure the room is completely silent and devoid of distraction, and keep all the lights switched off. It is also important to maintain a regular sleep schedule: aim to sleep and wake up at the same time every day to regularise your body’s internal clock.

#5 Get your body reshaped.

When everything else fails, there’s always a good surgical procedure to fix the excess fat and send it packing. We recommend choosing a good body reshaping treatment in Dubai. In the hands of an experienced doctor, this treatment can remove stubborn fat from the arms, hip and waist, and the abdomen. The fat is measured using calipers and removed if it measures 14mm or above. Once the fat is removed, the doctor reconfigures the skin and underlying muscle to improve tone and make them firmer. Thus, not only is the fat removed but the skin laxity is eliminated and the area acquires a natural look. However, this solution may not be practical for large areas of fat removal. Your doctor can analyse your body fat percentage and proportion of fat in the targeted areas before deciding on the body reshaping treatment or some other procedure for you.

Yoga Asanas for Painful Cramps

Yoga is one of the most ancient sciences in the world, and it is said that it has a pose or ‘asana’ for every single body part, from scalp to toes. Yoga is practiced the world over for a wide range of conditions, from alleviating mental stress to strengthening weak muscles. It is a holistic science that works on the body, mind, and emotions.

Did you know that you can practice specific yoga asanas to reduce period pain? This article lists five of the most popular yoga poses for relief from period cramps and PMS symptoms. Before you begin, wear a fresh cotton sanitary pad, comfortable yoga clothing, and place a yoga mat on the floor. Now take a deep breath and do the following yoga asanas for period cramp relief:

#1 Child’s pose. You have seen babies and toddlers do this in their sleep, or when they are throwing a tantrum about something – get on all fours and widen your knees further than your hip line for more relief from menstrual cramps. Now extend your arms and bend your body forward with your hands still on the floor. Lean your forehead on the floor and inhale slowly five times. Let your breath come from your abdomen and not your chest. Straighten up, wait for five seconds, and repeat. This exercise stretches the tense back muscles and relieves period pains.

#2 Pigeon pose. This asana relieves tense hips and uterine cramping pain by stretching the waist and hip area. Sit upright and bend your right knee, with your left leg extended behind you. Now gently arch your back as you place your hands on your hips, stretching only as hard as you can easily go. Now get down on all fours, and bring your right knee towards your right wrist, extending the right ankle in line with the left hip. Slowly slide your leg backward and keeps your hands planted on the ground for better balance. Your left hip gets stretched without pain – hold for at least 5 breaths, then repeat with your left side.

#3 Twist with recline. This asana reduces pain in the lower back and lower abs. Lie on your back and bend your left knee before lowering it to the right side of your body. Look towards the left, reaching your arms out wide with palms flat on the ground. Stay in this position for five breaths, then relax. Repeat this asana with the other side of your body for 10 repetitions.

#4 Cat and cow pose. This asana has two parts. In the first, you do the cow pose, in which you get down on your hands and knees. Align your knees under your hips and your hands under your shoulders. Now stretch your head up slowly and breathe in, raising your tailbone towards the sky as you drop your belly downward. Next, move on to the cat pose. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly while curving your back (your head and tailbone should both be downward). These two asanas stretch the back muscles and spine, and give a light stretch to the tense ab muscles to relieve cramping and pain.

#5 Corpse pose. This asana is done at the end of every yoga session to signal the end, and to relax the mind and body. Lie down on your back, with palms facing upward. Now relax all your muscles, from top to toe, and focus on something happy or inspirational. The relaxed ab muscles hurt much less.

Cramps And Aches: Let A Heating Patch Deal with Them

Periods are a monthly phenomenon every woman goes through ever since their early teens. However, not all women can cope well with the cramps and pains that accompany their period.

This article details the reasons for using heat to alleviate muscular pain, and how to use a heating patch for cramp comfort.

How heat therapy helps with pain

Heat therapy has long been used to deal with aches and pains in the body’s muscles. It does not show any application in treating joint pain and stiffness. When heat is applied to a painful muscle, the higher temperature makes the blood vessels in the painful area dilate. Blood vessels in an area of internal trauma or pain often constrict as the muscle tenses. When the blood vessels dilate, there is increased blood flow to the muscles, which prompts them to relax. As a result, the pain seems to dissipate or reduce.

However, do ensure that you do not use extreme heat directly on the skin. People with chronic pain, or those suffering from recent muscle pain arising out of exercise, are wont to use heat therapy for pain relief more. This includes women experiencing period pains or cramping in the abdomen. They use              or hot water bottles to relieve the cramps. But a heating patch is better for cramp comfort.

How a heating patch works

A heating patch is as far from a hot water bottle as is possible. Like the name suggests, it is a patch of material that is placed on the painful muscle. When you use one for period cramp comfort, it reduces the pain from your cramping uterus.

Amongst the best ones in India at the moment is the Nua heating patch – it is placed on the lower abdomen, and it warms up on its own using the body’s heat. This ensures that it does not overheat and the patch warms up gradually, thus letting the skin adjust to the change in temperature slowly rather than abruptly. With the warming, the painful cramping begins to ease up and you feel less cramp pain during your period.

You can keep the Nua patch on for a period of eight hours at a time. Just place it on as directed on the pack and get relief from painful cramps during your period.

Other things to do for a comfortable period

Apart from using a good heating patch, there are a few other things you can do to ensure that you feel comfortable during your monthly period, such as:

* Use the best sanitary pads: Too often, most women use sanitary pads that irritate their skin and cause rashes, apart from offering poor protection from leaks and insufficient absorption. Get Nua sanitary pads online for the most amazing experience: they are thin, super absorbent, feature a wider back and are made with zero toxic materials. They never cause rashes and are available in different sizes as per period flow. Nua also customises your monthly subscription as per number of pads, type, etc.

* Wash yourself well: Washing off the vulva and surrounding skin twice daily during your period is important. Use a good foaming intimate wash with pH balance for your skin to keep yourself clean and fresh down there.

* Rest as much as possible: The drop in estrogen levels during your period makes you sleepy. Rest as much as you can, and improve your mood by bingeing on your favourite TV shows or reading a good book in bed.

Most Common Misconceptions About Credit Scores

When the topic is as crucial and confusing as ‘Credit Score,’ it is natural that there will be many misconceptions and myths. The concept of a credit score has intrigued all borrowers from the time they came into existence. While every borrower tries their best to level up their credit score, nobody knows precisely how it increases.

Whether you want to apply for a loan through a credit line loan app or in person, you will need to maintain a high credit score. The following sections discuss the top-7 misconceptions and myths about credit scores.

1. The More You Check, The Lower The Credit Score Becomes

While this statement is not entirely false, it is not an established truth either. The credit score is usually fetched in two ways – soft pull and hard pull. A soft pull is when you check your credit score by messaging the credit bureau. However, when you seek a card or credit line from a credit line loan app, the lender enquires about your credit score. Such enquiries are termed as ‘hard pull,’ and may impact your credit score. Hence, try not to apply for too many loans or cards at one time.

2. A Bad Credit Score Is Permanent

This myth is not without reason. When a borrower defaults on loan repayment, the transaction displays prominently in their credit profile for the next three years. And, if the borrower has defaulted on multiple EMIs, the history may stay there for ten years. That being said, it is not too challenging to push the credit score upward. For example, you may apply for a credit line from a credit line loan app and repay the EMIs on time. With every timely payment, your credit score increases.

3. The Higher Your Income, The Better The Credit Score

This is a genuine myth. A borrower’s income does not impact their credit score directly or indirectly. A credit bureau considers your income decent as long as you pay the EMIs on time. For example, if you avail of a loan from a credit line loan app and never repay on time, your credit score will be in a free-fall mode.

4. The Credit Score You See Is The Same As What The Lender Sees

You can check your credit score in two ways – seek the credit report from the credit bureau directly or use a credit line loan app to check the score conveniently. However, the score you see might be different from the score your lender uses. Hence, while the credit score you see might give you enough indication about your financial health, it may or may not guarantee a loan or credit card approval.

5. Debit Cards Are As Good As Credit Cards For Building An Impeccable Credit Profile

Uninformed investors or borrowers think that a debit card can also increase their credit score, like a credit card or loan. However, this is not correct. A fascinating way to build your credit profile is by applying for a credit line through a credit line loan app. Debit cards are considered prepaid, and hence, credit bureaus do not consider these cards while framing your credit profile.

6. Surrender Cards To Increase The Credit Score

If you think your card provider levies higher fees, you may consider closing your card. However, if you want to enhance your credit score, think twice before surrendering your card or closing your credit line app account. An active and well-maintained card allows you to increase your credit score.

7. A Bad Credit History Means Loan Rejection

While it is correct that a bad credit score hurts the prospects of loan approval, it does not always lead to a rejection of a loan or card application. Credit line loan app are more considerate towards borrowers with a below-average credit score. They may increase the interest rate to minimise their risks, though.

Conclusion If your credit score is low, but aspirations are sky-high, consider downloading a credit line loan app. Credit line apps offer low-ticket loans at reasonably easy terms. You can also get various value-added benefits. Moreover, repaying the EMIs on time enables you to increase your credit score and avail discounted interest rates.

Travelling? Here’s Why You MUST Use A Credit Card

Almost every person uses a credit card in the UAE, from students to business owners. It is an excellent personal finance tool that helps you keep your spending in check, and opens the doors to a range of exciting rewards and experiences. But they are most useful when you use them for international travel, buying groceries, booking tickets or meals, etc.

Are you about to travel any time soon? Do so with a credit card – here are some reasons why:

* Miles, miles, and more miles!

The biggest advantage of using a credit card for your foreign trips is that you get free air miles per spend. You can accumulate these air miles over time and use them for a free one-way or round trip to a future destination. This saves a lot of money in the long run – imagine booking a flight for free! Platinum credit cards in UAE help you accrue a generous smattering of air miles per flight booking, so get planning for your next holiday.

* Lounge access at premium airports.

Another benefit of using a platinum credit card is that you get free lounge access for yourself at major airports in the Middle East and around the world. This is a big perk of having a fantastic credit card, that allows you to wait and use premium airport lounges for free. You may also get a discount on food and beverages in these lounges (please see the card’s set of terms and conditions) so wait times between flights become pleasurable instead of monotonous. You can even have a snooze while you wait, or finish an urgent work presentation and send it along, or have a group video chat with your office team before you jet off.

* Redeemable reward points for future journeys.

There are reward points on the best platinum cards in the UAE for booking flights and hotels. In fact, every swipe of the card ensures that you accrue reward points in your account. You can redeem these points in the future for tangible items like clothes or eating out at partner establishments, or you may enjoy unique experiences that the card offers.

* Easier international hotel and tour bookings.

Many international hotels and tour operators prefer to deal with customers who have credit cards while taking their bookings. The card is held in abeyance till the patron leaves the establishment or uses the booked service, in lieu of a ‘safety deposit’ in case charges need to be taken for damages to property, etc. You can have any wrong charges on the card reversed with the bank’s help on providing the relevant documentation to prove your claim. Getting charges reversed is much easier with a platinum credit card issued by a good bank, than on spends debited from a debit card.

* No need to use cash anywhere.

Most establishments, even the small ones in foreign countries, process credit card payments and do not insist on cash. This means that you can carry less cash on your travels and swipe your credit card everywhere instead. It ensures your safety from mugging attempts or bag snatching – if your card is stolen during your travels, you can simply have it hot-listed or cancelled with one call to the issuing bank. A new card is sent to your address within a few days.

Colours, Textures And Materials You Should Go For While Purchasing Bedding

Are you a new homeowner looking to spruce up your bedroom space? Or a renter with big dreams for your personal sanctuary? A resourceful college student excited to transform your first home away from home or a retiree sick of the same old, same old in your cosy refuge?

If you are, you’ve come to the right place because we’ve got just the right ideas to kick start your bedroom makeover journey. Home furnishing and bed linen add interest to a space and don’t require a major monetary investment. An easy and economical way to instantly make your room stand out is by switching up the bedding.

Just the simple addition of stylish and high-quality bed sheets, duvets and pillows will make your room look completely personalised and original. There is no exact formula for what constitutes the best kind of bedding. But we do have some tips that can guide your decision and help you pull a cohesive look together.

Colours

Colour should be the absolute first consideration for you when making a decision regarding bed linens. The colour of your bedroom, the furniture and fixtures and even the theme or “vibe” that you are aiming for will have a bearing on the bedding you choose. Remember, there are no rules. It’s your space, and it should follow your tastes.

If you want to go with matching colours, by all means, throw caution to the winds. Ignore modern design wisdom and opt for coordinating bed linen in shades that match your room colour. If you are do not mind taking some risks in your home aesthetic, play around with textures and opposing hues. According to science, certain cells in the eyes are particularly receptive to the calming tones of blues and whites. Grey and silver are thought to have a similar effect, perhaps due to the connection of such shades with moonlight and night skies.

Depending on the vibe you are looking for, for example, minimalist, design-forward, bohemian and so on, you can choose between neutral single colour bed linen, geometric designs that pop and make for great statement pieces or flowery patterns that add a touch of femininity. If you a trendsetter and have a multipurpose bedroom that doubles as an office and entertainment centre, ignore conventional ideas behind the “right” colours of bed linen. And explore your creativity unhindered.

Materials

When buying bed linen, aim for the highest quality you can afford. Most humans spend at least 8 hours on their sheets. And investing in quality materials can help in getting the best out of those 8 hours. The type of fabric also affects comfort.

Pure cotton bed sheets are soft, breathable, and long-lasting, making them extremely enviable for decor junkies. Easy-care cotton is a type of cotton that provides the same finish and feel as pure cotton with the added advantage of being long-lasting, requiring minimal maintenance and no ironing. Egyptian cotton is high-quality cotton with a fine and high thread count and is best used for special occasions as it is extremely delicate.

Cotton silk is a combination of cotton and silk that provides a matte finish, helps regulate temperatures and has an elegant drape. Linen might feel a little old school, but it has the dual quality of keeping the body cool in summers and warm during winters. When choosing the materials for your bedding, try to find the most harmony between comfort, price and style.

Textures

If you want to create an eye-popping space with visual interest galore, opt for bedding and home furnishing with some texture. Try to mix and match different textures for a harmonious look. Think crisp cotton sheets with a woollen throw. Or a buttery, soft to the touch silk bed sheet with a velvet runner. Ruched materials and seersucker are some other fun texture options if you are looking for a beachy vibe.

Conclusion

Gift Your Married Sibling the Most Thoughtful Gifts

Your sibling and you share the best bond. Through years of fights, laughter, shared confidences and having each other’s backs, you didn’t realise how strong your relationship was till the time they got married and moved away. You are thrilled at their newfound happiness, and you want to celebrate the fact that they found love and a great partner. So you decide to gift the two of them something that they will both appreciate and enjoy for years to come.

Wondering what to gift your sibling for their married home? We’ve got some pointers:

#1 New cushions with covers.

Your sibling has the loveliest furniture and their house is furnished tastefully. You can add to the house’s splendour by gifting them a new set of sofa cushions with cushion covers to go with them. But do pick the cushion covers keeping in mind the design ethos of the home, and your sibling’s sensibilities as regards colour and material. If their house has an ethnic feel to it, then you can pick covers with intricate designs or Indian motifs. If the home is minimalist and sleek, then plain colours or colour blocking will be a better option.

#2 A new bed sheet set.

Everybody loves new bed linen. Bedsheets, bed covers and comforters are great gifts, and your sibling will appreciate them a lot. The rule of thumb when picking bedsheets, is to find something that either matches the room’s colour scheme perfectly, or offers a sharp contrast. We recommend going with the latter approach, since you might not always find a bedsheet set that perfectly matches the wall colours. Leading bed linen brands have a range of bedsheet sets to offer, in various prints such as geometric, ethnic, floral, abstract, etc.

#3 Wall art.

Nobody can resist a beautiful painting, especially if it has bold brush strokes and colours that captivate the eye. You can gift your sibling with a stunning new painting for their living room. If you’re ambivalent about abstract or illusionist art, you could simply take a picture of your sibling and their partner, and blow it up to frame and hang on the wall. Or maybe you come across some quirky small canvasses on your travels, or find some lovely prints online – you could gift three or four canvasses for them to tack to their bedroom wall. Wall art is always a pleasant gift that enhances the house’s visual appeal.

#4 A new door mat.

Every house has a door mat, but is one ever enough? Come to think of it, you need door mats for not just the main entrance door but also inside the house, and especially outside the bathroom door. Here’s an idea: buy them a door mat each for their front door and bathroom, in matching colours or prints. Matching the colours and prints unifies the mats and gives them a sense of order and logic. You can pick some great bargains online in different colours and graphic prints.

#5 Sheer and opaque curtains.

Curtains frame doors and windows and make the space they are in aesthetically more pleasing. They also provide the practical solution of keeping unwanted sunlight out of the space. If your sibling’s room faces a direct glare from outside, you should consider buying both sheer and opaque curtains for each window of the house – the sheer ones cut out the glare while diffusing it into a soft light, and the opaque ones provide a partial blackout effect.

Whenever you buy any bed or bath linen, do make sure that you pick from amongst leading brands in India for great quality, awesome prices and quick delivery.

When your machine is just used for social media handling, shopping, studying, entertainment or web browsing, then it is fine to stay attached to your existing model. If you are using your laptop for work and when you need a more efficient and faster machine then you can upgrade to one. But, what about the old Laptop, what do you do with it? It becomes useless immediately after a new one arrives. Don’t wait longer and sell it immediately at better price quotations. For that, we need to focus on the best and convenient way to sell a laptop at a good resale price.

Suppose you are thinking to sell dell laptop for cash in UAE, to get a good resale price we need to focus on some important facts –

Dealers buy defective models to use the working parts or repairs and resell them at a lower price.  Another reason for reselling old laptop is to earn quick cash. In UAE, asking loan from an unauthorized financial institution is illegal. Even if you are wanting a loan from friends and family, then no interest is chargeable, therefore it is inconvenient to ask for money. Now, if you are having an old unused laptop then it will bring you money. But you need to wait indefinitely for the right customer. Some of these websites offer a buyback feature. You get a certain period, during which you can buy the sold laptop at the pre-discussed price. Think twice when you think of selling a used laptop to make quick cash.

3 Ways To Teach Your Child Good Money Habits

Your child is the centre of your universe, and as they grow up, you want them to become responsible and conscientious. This starts with helping them understand the value of money and how to inculcate good money habits for the future.

The following are 3 ways to teach your child good money habits:

#1 Start a minor savings account and teach your child to save pocket money.

You probably give your child a weekly or monthly allowance. It may not be much, but your child must learn the savings habit as soon as they start receiving their pocket money. Tell your child that they must save a part of their pocket money – set a minimum amount – that you will keep safely for them in their own bank account. No child can resist the idea of having a bank account that is wholly theirs! Agree that once their savings reach a certain threshold, they can buy what they want using that money. This gives your child an incentive to save money instead of spending it all before the month is up – a habit that will set a firm foundation for future saving when your child grows up and leaves home.

#2 Buy a child plan and explain how it works.

One thing you should do right away is to invest in a child plan. Your child may wish to pursue higher education in medicine, engineering, architecture, commercial art, etc. While you support their scholastic ambitions, it can become difficult to finance higher education considering the high costs of professional courses in India and abroad. A child insurance plan ensures that you have the financial wherewithal to pay for higher education. The best child plans protect your child’s interests even in your absence – the insurer waives off the balance premiums but keeps the plan active. On attaining the age of 18 years, your child receives the full benefits of the child education policy. The money can be used for their higher education or even wedding. When you buy the plan, do explain its working to your child so they understand what it is.

#3 Teach your child to earn extra cash by being helpful around the house.

Every child must understand the value of money. It is important for your child to understand how hard you work to provide for the family and that money must be used carefully at all times. The best way to teach the value of money is by making your child earn it for what they want. We’re not suggesting making them get a job – but if your child wants a new laptop, tell them that they must have a certain percentage of marks before you buy them one. Or if they want to go out to eat chaat with their friends, they must help with chores around the house for a few days to get the money for the treat. This teaches your child the correlation between work and earning money.
